Sweep 1.0

Sweep is a modeling plug-in that extrudes a cross-section along a path. It uses the Control Points on the path as cross-section steps, and preserves the path geometry, including peaked control points, closed paths and all bias controls.

The plug-in also compensates geometry on corners and peaked turns, in order to keep the extruding edges parallel. This all is made automatically, without dialogs or parameters.

cross-section

Usage:

To create swept objects with Sweep, you need a cross-section and one or several extruding paths.

The cross-section should be flat in the xz plane (i.e. modeled from the TOP view) and grouped into a group named "shape".

extruding path

After creating the "shape" group, you can model one or several paths (best done from the FRONT view), select the paths and run the plug-in (right mouse button -> plug-ins -> wizards -> Sweep).

Swept objects for all selected path objects will be created at once.
